What this site does
Birthday Pokemon lets you choose a birth month and day and see which Pokemon correspond to that date under a simple fan-made rule. You do not need to enter a birth year or create an account. The same date always produces the same result for a given starting point.
How the matches are chosen
By default, January 1 is day 1 of a 366-day calendar that includes February 29. We match that day number to a National Pokedex number, then add 366 for each additional match, stopping at #1025. Every date has two or three matches. You can also start the count on Pokemon Day, February 27, to see a different set. The homepage explains the calculation with an example.
Sources and independence
Pokemon names, types, descriptions, and cries come from PokéAPI; artwork comes from PokeAPI/sprites. The idea was inspired by the original Pokebirth project. The birthday matching rule on this site is for fun; it is not an official Pokemon classification. Birthday Pokemon is an independent fan project and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Nintendo, Game Freak, Creatures, or The Pokemon Company.
